The first thing that may attract your attention to the Paraiso Verde is its elongated, narrow, wavy, heart-shaped leaves.

Make it chunky with coconut chips and #3 perlite.
Furthermore, amend the soil with rice hulls and worm castings.
Philodendron Paraiso Verde Care: Watering Requirements
Watering is a crucial aspect of Philodendron Paraiso Verde care.
In general, watering any Philodendron or any aroid can be daunting at first.
But the best thing to do when watering your Paraiso Verde is to wait till the soil has completely dried out before watering it again.

Philodendron Paraiso Verde comes from tropical forests, so it loves high humidity levels.
Aim to provide your Paraiso Verde with 65% or more humidity.
If you live in a humid region, you will have a very happy Philodendron.
If you don’t live in a humid region, there are ways to provide enough humidity for your Paraiso Verde to keep it happy and healthy.
One way to increase humidity for your plant is to use an indoor humidifier.
Proper use of an indoor humidifier is essential. Use distilled water and regularly clean your humidifier to prevent spreading mold through the air.
Another way to increase humidity for your plant is to mist your the leaves with distilled water.
Be vigilant about this method, however, because constantly wet leaves can lead to your plant developing fungal infection.
Placing your Philodendron on top of a pebble tray filled with water can also increase humidity around your plant. As the water in the tray evaporates upward, the air around your plant will become more humid.
Finally, you can group other humidity-loving plants around a bowl of water to increase the humidity around them. Grouping them together will also trap the humid air around the leaves, so to speak.
Temperature Requirements for Philodendron Paraiso Verde
Philodendron Paraiso Verde is a tropical plant and therefore thrives in warmer temperatures of 65º – 85ºF / 17º – 29ºC.
The most important thing in terms of temperature is to help your Paraiso Verde avoid frost or exposure to harsh fluctuations in temperature.
If you keep your Paraiso Verde outdoors, bring it indoors when the outdoor temperature dips below 65ºF or 17ºC.

It is a slow release fertilizer that you only need to apply every 3 to 6 months during the Spring and Summer months. Simply follow the directions on the package for application to your Paraiso Verde.
Worm castings and fish emulsion are both natural ways to fertilize your Philodendrons.
Sprinkle work castings as a top dressing over the top of the soil.
Fish emulsion can be diluted to 1/4th strength and used to water your plant very week or every 2 weeks.

Moss Pole
Paraiso Verde loves to climb.
They would normally climb up tree trucks in their natural tropical rainforest habitat.
That’s why it is important to give your Paraiso Verde a moss pole to cling to and climb on.

Start by rolling up some pre-moistened sphagnum moss inside PVC coated wire mesh.
Roll up the mesh to make it look like a pole and then tie it closed with plastic coated wire twists.
It is best to add a moss pole when you are ready to re-pot your plant.
You can increase the size of the pot by a couple of inches and re-pot your plant with your new moss pole at the same time.
In order to promote the growth of your Paraiso Verde’s aerial roots, place some moistened sphagnum moss around the aerial roots and tuck the moss into your moss pole.
Pests
Philodendron Paraiso Verde can face pest problems if they are under inadequate living conditions.
Some common pest problems include aphids, mealy bugs, spider mites, and scale.
Remember to check your Paraiso Verde and give it a once over at every watering. This way, you will stay on top of any pest problems that may occur.
